Funding available for SMEs to go green

Grants of up to £3,000 are now available for SMEs in the South East of England for promoting an innovative environmentally friendly products or for projects to improve company environmental performance.

The grant funding which provides 31% of project costs up to a total grant of £3,000 are available for a wide range of projects or activities that help to increase productivity and efficiency. This includes:

  • ISO 14001 accreditation,
  • development of an environmental management system or corporate social responsibility policy,
  • Energy monitoring systems and carbon footprinting,
  • Energy efficiency equipment (excluding IT and items that need to be capitalised),
  • Environmental consultancy,
  • Resource efficiency, including packaging improvements and waste reduction.

The funding is available to all SMEs in the South East of England, except London. This includes Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, Hampshire and Isle of White, Kent and Medway, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Sussex.

The funding is provided by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is administered by Ngage Solutions Ltd, who are managing the Grants for Eco Innovation project for the Department for Communities and Local Government.
